Many work colleagues, but also many clubs and groups of friends find out every year on the first weekend in September, what the sportiest company, or the sportiest team is called. The Darmstadt Team Triathlon event is very popular with companies and company sports groups. The running course runs on 2 laps through the Darmstädter Bürgerpark. Energy and atmosphere on the bike course remind some triathletes of a classic bike race and so it is not surprising that triathlon celebrities like Normann Stadler, Daniela (Sämmler) Bleimehl or Eintracht legend Thomas Zampach will be there. The bike course is completely closed and runs flat on asphalt. Swimming takes place in the 50 meter pool of the DSW open air pool in the middle of Darmstadt. With participant numbers of 4000+, the “Datterich” is one of the most participatory 1-day triathlon events in Germany. Of course, just like the Darmstadt triathlon itself, the former rookies have evolved over time. Darmstadt is thus the cradle of the 10 Team Triathlon for companies and groups of friends. In the context of an event of the TU Darmstadt only a few teams started at the premiere.
Team Triathlon in Darmstadt has already existed since 1994, when the first Ten Friends Beginner Event took place under the name “Datterich”. Joy is at the top of the list for this team event. This is the place for anyone who wants to experience a casual collaborative team event with friends, co-workers or family.
